Fledgeling Music is commissioned by Corpusty and Holt Sure Start Children’s Centre to work with children and their families from birth up to the end of Reception year to enhance children’s communication and language skills as these core skills were discovered to be particularly low in this Sure Start cluster. The ‘Every Child a Talker’ project in 2011-2012 saw many services in the Holt area working together to raise children’s communication and language skills (CLL) results. Fledgeling Music continues to play a key role in working with parents to model how easy and very simple it is to have fun with children whilst at the same time improve their language skills and to help them thrive in school later.
Each group is energetic and lively using humour and a big slice of silliness.

The classes provided by Fledgeling music are a brilliant way of improving children’s ability to be expressive and make sounds in a very fun way. Lorna has amazing skills at gauging the needs of each child in her class and developing activities that will promote their ‘next steps’ and also help families take part in groups that might not otherwise feel comfortable in doing so.”

Thank you so much for your wonderful music sessions. Sophie has loved them and you, and they have made such a difference to her confidence and speech.”

Harry gets so absorbed, he loves dancing and acting out the songs, he’s now started singing some of the words. I feel it has really encouraged his speech and allowed him to express himself more. It is a special time we share together just the two of us. It’s the best class I’ve ever done with my kids Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
Sam – Mum of Harry, 17 months
